IntraNow has been developed on the latest technologies and frameworks to ensure that the user experience and performance is capable of meeting todays business demands. The user interface is cross-browser compatible and will work on all platforms with a recent browser, including Mac OSX, Linux and Windows systems (supporting browsers including IE/FireFox/Opera/ Chrome). This level of ﬂexibility ensures that IntraNow can be used throughout your company, on different global sites and even your clients sites if you install it on an externally accessible machine.

Behind the UI, data transfer takes place using JSON (Javascript Object Notation), this light-weight method of transporting data between the IntraNow back-end and front-end ensures minimal load time and provides your users with the speed they need to operate the software quickly and without delay, keeping the UI asynchronous and reducing download times. The IntraNow back-end is coded in the widely used PHP scripting language (1) with a MySQL (2) database system for scalable data storage.

Installation Server System Requirements

To install IntraNow we recommend that your hardware meets the following requirements:

512MB Ram
At least 2GB free disk space
PHP (available free from www.php.net) *
MySQL Database System (available free from www.mysql.com/downloads) *
Web Server (e.g. Apache/IIS etc)*

*Usually installed as standard on Linux and Mac OSX servers. For Windows installations these dependencies will need to be downloaded and installed prior to installing the iOrchid software.

Client System Requirements

As IntraNow is browser based, all the client user needs is a web browser installed on their machine, iOrchid works on all platforms client-side with a recent browser installed, this includes IE6+, Firefox, Opera, Chrome and Safari. iOrchid is then access via the installation URL, e.g. http://mycompany.com/intranow or via an internal IP address (based on the setup)
